Q: Can a 2003 Dodge Neon SXT have the rear brakes converted from drum to disc?
I am wondering if my 2003 Dodge Neon SXT can have the rear brakes converted ? The SRT-4 had quad disc brakes, and that is essentially the same base model with a few upgrades. Can those parts be used? If this can be done, what would it take to have someone do it?
A: if you can find one wrecked thats the best way/buying those parts new really brings the cost way up/aint worth it

Q: what is the highest compression i can expect to get out of a stock dodge 318 with two turbochargers?
im planning on converting my truck over to run 100% ethanol and i want to achieve a very high compression for the ethanol so i am going to use the turbochargers to help with compression and forced induction. the engine is a 1974 dodge 318 LA stock everything. thank you very much.
A: you better do a lot off home work you say every thing is stock well it wont be after you get done. stock compression would be around 8.5 maybe 9.1 with turbo you are talking boost any thing from 5 psi to 15 psi and that is talking small turbos. i think you would be better off with a super charger than turbos but good luck

Q: How can I improve the sound on my Dodge Dakota?
I have a 2001 dodge dakota with 53,000 miles on it. It is a v6 with a 3.6 liter, and is quiet. If i wanted it to sound better, would i need to put an exhaust system on it, or would a new muffler make it sound better. Would it make a deeper sound like a muscle car, or a high pitched sound like a small car.
A: add you a set of flow master 40 series mufflers to it, i got those on my 99 model and it sounds real good,at a distance it doesn't sound like a v-6 engine, and they help with performance also, good luck.
Q: What can I do to keep my 2000 Dodge Stratus in working condition?
My 2000 Stratus has 168,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. It had a head gasket replacement at 100,000 and other than that just the routine maintenance (oil changes every 3000-4000 miles, replaced plugs and wires at 158,000). I want to keep this car around as long as possible, but know it has a lot of miles on it for a Chrysler. Any Dodge/Chyrsler mechanics know of any good routine jobs that may need to be done to keep my baby around?
A: if it has a rubber timing belt its time to change it.
keep the oil fresh, and the filter changed.
Drive it slowly and watch out for the other guy.
Q: Where do I find fenders for my old Dodge truck? And how bad is a wiring harness replacement?
I have a step side 1975 Dodge 100, and I been to junkyards and looked online, I can't find step side fenders anywhere. Also I was wondering how hard a wiring harness from E-Z wire or Summit is to put in it?
A: I'd call around to the custom shops or body shops etc for that fender but you may end up having to have one made up for you too.
My speciality is wiring and I can tell that it's a big job if you're talking about the main harness on that vehicle.I'd try going back to the do it yourself auto wreckers and pulling a couple of those harness's off bec you gain so much by doing the hands on job.
I'am not sure just why you want to change this harness maybe it's bec of faulty wiring or a accident that crimped the harness but keep in mind that Dodge uses quite a bit of thin gauged wires and on a vehicle that old it have many bad grounds and wiring that is internally rotted out or corroded.
Basically to pull a harness off if it's the main harness will take 2 to 3 hrs or so but to install it will take a good part of a day unless it's easy access etc.
Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way if you do know how to solder and replace wiring I'd highly recommend taking an harness off a vehicle exactly like yours and buying the right gauged wires then rebuilding the harness before changing it with your old harness , unless you're going to buy a new harness that is about 1,500 to 2,000 bucks.
What I do is take the coating or sleeves etc off the harness and then tracing the wires one ata time cutting one end of it then the other , peeling the wires then use a ohms meter to be sure it's the right way , then peel the wire you wish to change and slide the heat shrink tubes over it then peel a new wire same gauge and add it onto the old wires , then solder the connections , check both soldered ends with ohms meter to be sure it's a good solid connection and then slide the tube over the wire once it cooled down a bit and shrink the tube by heating it up, plus check where the wires connect to on the harness like a plug in pin connector's pins to be sure its all connecting properly. This method may take some time over 8 hrs or even a few days but at least then you know that the wiring will be basically new.
Q: How much would it cost to insure a dodge Dakota V8?
I was wondering how much it would cost to insure a dodge dakota (1997-2004) with a v8 for a new driver (between 16 and 18 years old). Also how much would it cost for the same thing with a v6? I would like answers with numbers if possible. Thanks.
A: when i was 16 and first got my license i had a 95 1500 with a v8 and it was 1800 a year so i doubt it would be more than that and that was only 2 years ago good luck
Q: How much to put in new wires in the engine bay of a 1975 Dodge Dart?
I have a 1975 Dodge Dart that is running rather well, but the wires in the engine bay are rather old. I wanted to replace them before something happens as preventitive maintenece. approximately how much would this be?
A: 50 bucks maybe if you do it not hard you can type into search box
how to replace spake plug wires
really easy on a older cars cal any parts store get a price on new ones
just lay out new wires by length
pull old wires one at a time just twist and pull to get off
push back on new one same way it come off
not hard job really just do one wire at a time you wil not mistake where it goes might take you 30 minutes a shop might charge you 100 or more but you can call three shops and get a good idea
Q: My 2000 Dodge 4x4 truck want start, when you turn the key you hear nothing, dash lights light up but total bla?
My 2000 Dodge 4x4 truck has a V8 with an auto transmission, I had the battery checked it was fine, when you turn the key you can hear nothing, dash lights light up but total blank no ticking. I tried to start it in neutral and messed with the shifter still nothing, What else can I try?
A: Look under the vehicle at the rear left side of the transmission. The Neutral Safety/Reverse switch is right there and is a three prong device with a round wire boot that goes over the switch. Either the switch is faulty (had to change the one in my Ram B2500 Van) and/or the wiring harness is unhooked or ripped apart.
If you are good with electronic then you can take the harness and put a jumper wire in the center part, not the two outer wire only the center) and ground it to the transmission or frame and then try to start the truck, if it starts replace the switch, it is less than 30 dollars at an auto parts store.
Q: What is the proper way and oil viscocity for servicing a differential on 98 dodge ram van?
I need to know the proper service for rear dfferential on 98 dodge ram van,IE oil viscocity and method.
A: Brush off any dirt from the differential inspection cover area, remove bolts, and let fluid drain into pan as cover comes loose. Remove any gasket material, whether fiber or RTV type from cover and mating surfaces, and otherwise clean the cover. Replace with fresh gasket in place, or using RTV per instructions on product tube. Get all bolts started to thread before tightening any all the way down. Remove fill plug from cover, and fill with GL-5 75W-90 Gear Lube until it starts to come back out of the hole while vehicle is sitting level, and replace plug. Should take about 2 and 1/2 quarts.
All of the above is assuming a 1500 1/2 ton model, without Posi.
