Q: Stub Shaft removal on 2003 dodge ram 1500 4x4?
I am replacing my half shaft's on my 2003 ram 1500 and was told that my problem may be more than just the half shaft, that it could also be the stub shaft splines that are broke. My questions; How can I remove the stub shaft without taking apart the differential (I was told this is possible). How much does a stub shaft cost? Any input is appreciated.
A: if its on the front differential you cant remove them without taking apart the differential unit on it,if your talking about the part that the half shaft goes in to,the outer ones you can replace but the inner ones go through in to the differential unit,good luck .
Q: Need help installing a CD player in a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500?
Yesterday I was installing a JVC CD player into my girlfriends dodge, but when I pulled out the factory cd player the antenna cord had a black sleeve on the end that would not fit in to the new player. Is there a adapter I need to buy or does the sleeve pull of?
A: yes you go to radio shack and they sell the adapter for that one for about 3 bucks,dodge has different antenna wire than some vehicles do but their is a cure for that ,wal-mart was carrying those also ,so you might want to check with them on it,good luck.
Q: Cost of a a 3" leveling kit for a Dodge Ram 2003?
My dodge Ram 2003 has a 3" difference between the front and back axial and I was trying to figure the average cost of buying this type of leveling kit as well as the cost of the installation. Does anybody know what I can expect?
And I already have fairly decent sized tires (20" rims, whatever that comes out to be) so would i need to consider getting a larger front set of tires so it doesn't look bad?

Q: What kind of problems can an exhaust leak cause in a 2003 dodge ram 1500 ?

i hear a humming noise when driving aroiund 35 mph and uyp but i cam not always hear it its really werid but i always hear it when i get up to highway speeds and only when my foots on the gas
if theres a way to test if it is an exhaust leak if some one oculd plz help
A: put it up on a grease rack with it running and feel along the pipe for air escaping from the pipe or fittings on it that will find the leak if there is one,if it does have one it can cause you to get a check engine light for a bad 0-2 sensor sometimes but not always,most of the tie you just get that annoying noise from it leaking,good luck.
Q: I want to make my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 have a rumbling dual exhaust? Plz help any ideas or alternatives!?
If i have it cut from after the cats back and dont put a new exhaust on it and just y it out with echo tips will it sound sweet? Plz help any comments and ideas or alternatives.

do some searches "you tube" to get some sound selections of what the various products sound like post installation.
i think you will likely settle on flowmasters as best sound ...but you decide (they seem to be most popular performance solution for dodge ram owners/produce best sound).
(i personally like magnaflows...but its your drive)

Q: What is the cause for purge cannister leak on my 2003 Dodge Ram 4.7?
My service engine light is now on and the code reading says i have a purge cannister leak? The light has come on for short periods of time before but now has remained on for quite some time
A: Crawl under your truck and look for broken and cracked hoses goin to the Leak detection pump. It is round and mounted to the frame rail, has two hoses approx.3/4" diameter and an electrical connector. These hoses are so prone to cracking that is the first place we all look when these trucks come in with an evap system leak code. The hose costs about 8-9 bucks at the dealer.

A: If there isn't a driver's safety button, there might be a problem with a fuse needing replaced. I had an 01 Dodge Caravan and when that happened, there was a fuse we had to replace. If I remember, it was some sort of relay fuse. If you have your user's manual for the truck, look in there under the fuses and it will tell you which one it is.
Q: where is the fuse box located in a 2003 dodge ram 1500?
I know the one under the hood, but i heard there is another one located inside the cab. Has anyone found it yet? is it hidden? how do you get to it?
i shorted my passenger side parking lamp lead and now there is no power going throw it so i am hoping a fuse just blew for the passenger side exterior lights because all my driver side lights work perfect.
I checked the driver side dash on the inner side, where the door has to be open to access it, and i popped off the panel thats shaped like a "D" and nothing was inside. Also did the same on the passenger side but with no luck of locating a fuse box.
A: when you open the door its located on the end of the dash,and when you remove the panel the listing for what the fuse is and what it does is located on the back of the cover,it also gives a better description in the owners manual of what each fuse does,good luck.

A: adding a programmer to it is better than trying to fool the 0-2 sensors on it ,with this you can program it in for better performance rather than try and alter whats already there,that's what most people are going to now days is programmers,and they do improve performance,good luck.

A: Find the lower radiator hose where it goes to the block, the thermostat is in that housing, remove the 2 bolts and replace the thermostat. hope this helps.
Q: 2003 Dodge Ram Electrical Problems with blinkers, "Lamp Out" light, and wipers?
Our 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab has been having some electrical problems. A few months ago the "Lamp out" light came on with no lights being out. We were told to replace the light bar which we did. Now the lamp out light has started coming on again randomly and the blinkers only work when you hit the steering wheel pretty hard. The windshield wipers have about the same problem. I know it must all be related but I have no idea how to fix it and I haven't found anyone who does. I have done the simple stuff like check fuses etc... but there is something bigger and I do think it is all interconnected. All of these problems just started recently. Help me :)
A: yes, its called the multifunction switch. the contacts can get dirty and corroded and lightly burnt and it changes the resistance of the switch. this will not fix the "lamp out" warnining though. the Front Control Module monitors the continuity of the wiring for the headlamps, brake lamps(not including the 3rd), park and turn lamps. take it to a dealer and they can retreive codes out of the FCM to tell which bulb has the open. even if the bulb is working when you check your ligths, you can hit bumps and a broken filament can vibrate and lose contact quickly and start working again by the time you check it.
Q: have a 2003 dodge ram 2500 truck. The lamp out light and bell warning comes on at 40 mph but no lamp is out. ?
How do I disconnect the warning bell? I can live with the light on the dash.
A: Under the dash there should be like a little box or module that plugs in you can disconnect this to stop the sound I hope this will work it works on Ford trucks

V8 Magnum = 87 (regular)
V8 HEMI = 89 (Plus, recommended but runs good on 87 if not towing)
V10 = 89 (Plus)
SRT-10 = 91 (Supreme)
V6 or V8 Diesel = Diesel (older ones Diesel1, newer ones Diesel 1 or 2)
PS: "leaded" gas does not exist in the US since around the early 90's
