Q: I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 and the check engine light came on but the engine is running fine?
My 2004 dodge ram 1500 Check engine light came on the other day and the engine is running fine. But today i stoped at a red light and it cut off with me.Can anyone help me with this?
well i went to auto zone today and he said i had a small leak and said it's usually the gas cap so i bought a new one but engine light is still on. Any ideas anyone?
A: there's about 40 things that will make the cel light come on but with it dieing out like that id say check the idle air control valve on it,you need to also check the plugs in it ,when the get a lot of miles on them they will cause this to start happening,it will start right back up but an occasional sputter will be noticed and you may also notice sometimes its slow to start up,have auto zone read the computer and give you the code from it for why the light came on to begin with,then you,ll have something to work with on it,good luck on it.
Q: 2004 Dodge Ram Heating up while stopped or in light?
Hi I have a 2004 Dodge Ram that when you are in a stop sign or in a light stop the temp gauge goes up more than half . Also this only happens when its over 90 degrees outside meaning where I live always. During morning hours on late night hours it doesnt do this. We already repaired the radiator last week it worked fine for the whole week until now it started doing the same thing again. What do you guys think it might be???
A: You repaired the radiator and filled it up with coolant and now it gets hot again. When the engine is cool, open the radiator and see if you need coolant. If you do, you have another leak somewhere.
If coolant is cool, check your fan.
Q: How to replace IACV on 2004 Dodge Ram?
I am having idle issues with my Ram. I know that the IACV is located on the fireside of the throttlebody, but I need to know how to get to it. I can't see it without removing anything yet. Do I need to remove the entire TB to access it?
A: Remove the air intake from the filter housing to the throttle body and you will see the IAC on the back of the throttle body. Disconnect the electrical connector and then remove the 2 #20 torx head screws and remove the IAC.

Q: How do you install a lift kit on a 2004 Dodge Ram?
Does the front of a 4x4 Ram truck take the lift blocks like the rear axle does, or does it need some special device such as coil springs or something else??
A: I have 04.5 diesel 4x4 depends how high you want to go? I put a 2" lift front spacers== 0 lift rear 315x70x17 BF AT/KO. it lifted the front 6" rear 4" needs running boards as you have a hard time getting in without. To go higher you need to replace a lot of the front end best have a 4x4 shop do

A: you can go by the mileage on it or call a dealer and check with them,usually a dealer can tell you in a minute if its still covered or not,good luck.

A: have the battery checked , i had a 2003 the battery was dead it was jump started but because the battery was very low the engine wouldn't even rev up it was like a dead gas pedal & the guages did work also check the terminal connections

A: on that one they got a delay unit built in with the motor and the easiest way to get them right again is to replace motor and all on it,its either got a bad gear in it or the motor is gone bad on it,a new one cost about 80 bucks through advance or auto zone either one,used they run about 35 bucks,good luck

Q: Where can I find LED light bulbs for a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500?
I'm trying to find LED light bulbs for the front, rear and third brake light to the dodge, but I can't seem to find them anywhere online. All I keep getting is kits in which it gives me a whole new light. All I need is the bulb. Anyone know where I can find these?
A: GoRecon.com this site is specifically for Dodge, chevy, ford trucks and they have tons of led light equipment from bulbs to complete asembly's. If you know the bulb #, you can usually find it on ebay with a little time, or pepboys carrys a decent selection of them. I have the led tail/3rd brake lights with the stock reverse lights and found the led type. they are pricey though. 1 bulb for $10-$15

A: Look at the bolt pattern on the rear cover plate. An auto parts store or dealer will be able to identify which rear end you have from that description. The dealer may be able to tell you from the VIN.

A: mikes right on with the problem on that one especially if it has tilt wheel in it ,and those aren't easy to work on,if you get the tilt apart and cant get it back together again most shops wont even bother with it,they will want to replace the whole column in it,so it might be a good idea if you have a shop check this one out,even the ignition switches on those was a real pain to get back in,there was recall on those so you may get lucky and get this one fixed under the recall,dealers will know what to do because they have dealt with these on a daily basis,and in the long run cost you less,good luck.

A: if you have a 4.7, you remove the coils and the plugs are underneath. you need a long plug socket and extension. if you have a 5.7, you remove the coils and the plug wires, these have 16 plugs. you will need a short plug socket, a 1 inch extension, and a 3 inch extension, and you will have to remove the egr tube to get to 3 cylinders on the passenger side. use the same champion plugs that were already in it. the fancy expensive stuff only causes problems and wastes your money.

A: Two wheel drive has one on the output shaft of transmission, and 4 wheel drive has an additional one on the output shaft.

The clicker/turn indicator inside operates at its normal rate, but the lights on the truck blink slower. There is a clicking sound coming from near the fuse block by the battery. Any ideas?
A: could be a bad ground, the clicking is probably the flasher relay, but check the ground on that light also make sure there are no other bulbs not working
