How do u change a fuel filter on a 2006 dodge ram 2500? It there any special tools needed are is there any special way to do it?
A: if its a gas engine its in the tank, if its a diesel engine it just screws off,no special tools needed to remove it with,and on a 2500 it could be either engine and you didn't say which one it has in it,good luck.

A: it should be located on top the valve cover with a vacuum hose connected to it.

A: 02-05 is right. 06 and up have different fenders, headlamps, grille, and hood.
Q: Considering an engine upgrade in my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500?
I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 with manual six speed transmission, I"d like to upgrade to a 4.7, preferably a 2008 or later, due to the upgrades made to that engine. I know mechanically everything will bolt up.. But I'm not sure what I'll have to do from an electronics / computer standpoint.. Can anyone offer some help in this area ?

A: If you have the money to spend and don't want too much power that will ruin your drivetrain ie. Supercharger/turbo, then do this:
Superchips (do not get a hypertech brand!!)
Cold air intake
Headers
High-flow cats
Exhaust
You should see some impressive gains under your foot.

1500 Rams from 02 to 08 will all fit, same bolt pattern and same spacing
Q: 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 blower motor is louder then the engine, how can I fix it?
It only sounds like that when I turn the fan on high? It vibrates the entire dash and sounds super loud. Any easy fixes for this?
Is this a fairly easy fix? What would this run at a repair shop, on the average?
A: the bearings in the motor are about shot on it and its about to go out,you,ll have to replace it before it fly,s apart and does damage to other parts,that's all you can do for it,there's no repairing them once they go bad,good luck.
Q: Recommended tire pressure for a 2006 Dodge Ram?
I have an '06 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega-Cab. I checked the door frame for the recommended cold tire pressure and it says 50psi (front) 70 psi (back). This is the MAX pressur I assume, but no other recommendation is given. Not even in the owner's manual - which just tells you to check the door.
I regularly have 1-4 passengers and haul a light to medium load, with a heavier load infrequently.
A: The tag inside the door frame is the recommended manufacturer tire pressure for factory installed tires ( or comparable tires). You do not state if these have been changed, if they have go with the recommended pressure on the side wall.
Q: What tires would you recommend for a 2006 Dodge Ram?
Currently there are p245/70 r17 on it. I wanted to get a tire that would fill the well a bit more and not look as small on the truck. Or would it be better to just by 20 inch rims with tires? Would a dealer take my 17's as credit towards 20's?

Q: Does the 2006 Dodge Ram truck hood match any other years?
I'm replacing the hood on my truck and some websites list a replacement for an 02-05 hood and then a separate one for an 06-07, and some websites say 02-06, does the 06 match the with the older ones or is it really different. Any help is appreciated, THANKS!
A: I work for a after market supplier and here is how the yrs work out. 94-01 match 02-05 match and then its 06 to present.So you will need to get a hood for a 06 ram the 05 and ealier will not work.

A: The third generation Rams can not except any wheel that is smaller then a 17. And even some after market 17's will not work. Dodge went with larger calipers for the third generation Rams!!

A: It is approximately 12,850 lbs when properly equipped.

According to this you would be well under the max rating and a Cummins will pull 2600 lbs easy. Of course this is assuming that everything is in good working condition so double check everything and you should be good to go and don't forget a good trailer break system. Good luck!
EDIT: Remember, the 12,850 lbs is the tow rating and this is for a rolling load (pulling a trailer) If this is a camper that sits in the back of the truck be aware that the payload is around 2000 lbs.

I don't know much about this kind of stuff, so please be patient with me. I have always had a truck but never added anything but chrome to it. I am also thinking about adding a lift to it. Any advice on that as well?
A: I have the same truck but 2wd and I can clear 33s. So with out a lift you can clear 35s with no problems.
Q: 2006 Dodge ram 1500 2wd makes a pop noise when i turn left?
It usually does it when i turn the steering a quarter to the left. I've checked the ball joints and tie rods by jacking front up with the tires off the ground and budging both wheels back and forth and there is no slack. Everything seems tight. What else could it be?
A: still sounds like a ball joint you might not be able to do a compleeter test with no weight oin the ground stick a bar under the tire when it is jacked up and move the bar up and down! have some one watch the ball joint for slack!
Q: original factory warranty on a 2006 dodge ram 1500?
can anyone please tell me what the original factory warranty was when they were selling the new 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 trucks? We are searching but have not found this information at all. Found a 2006 with only 14,000 miles on it and if we need to should we invest in an extended warranty since it is already 2 years old or stay with the original warranty that is still on the truck? Thank you.
A: the extended warranty is good to purchase ,only if you plan on keeping it,many people find that after a few years they decide to trade one off,and the warranty usually isn't transferable to anyone else,so this would be up to you,the original warranty is for 3 year or 36 thousand,which isn't much,on the newer ones its much more,be careful on the extended warranty's they don't always cover what you need them too,and the have too many limitations on them,good luck.
