Q: Will a transmission from a 2000 Ford Econoline 4.6 Triton fit a 2003 F-150 4.6 triton?
I have a 2003 Ford F-150 with a blown transmission and my boss has a transmission out of his old van that he had rebuilt. It came out of a 2000 Ford Econoline that has a 4.6 trition like my truck. Does anyone know if it will fit, or should I go ahead and pull my transmission and see if they are the same?
A: Ok... The 03 F150 4.6 and the 00 Van both carry what is called a 4R70W trans; however, the 00 Van will only interchange with a 00 van ONLY!. While the 03 F150 will interchange with:
01-03 F150 4.6 4R70W 4x2
04 F150 Heratage 4.6 4R70W 4X2 WITH ID# 1L3P-FA
01 Expedition 4.6 4R70W
02 Expedition 4.6 4R70W WITH ID# 1L3P-FA
In these times....cars are a pain in the butt with all these electrical systems in them and sometimes the computer is only programmed for only those trans...so I hope this helps...

Q: Can I put a Grill Guard on my 2003 Ford F-150 STX model truck?
I have an 2003 Ford F-150 model STX, and dont know if a grill guard can be put on it...
Please Help!
A: Yes, several companies make grille guards that will fit this vehicle, Personally I like the Westin grille guards or the Mannik grille guards.
Ask your local parts stores if they handle these brands and they will be able to show you pictures and pricing.
Q: Why do I have trouble starting my 2003 Ford F-150?
I have a Ford F-150 that every other day I have a hard time starting. We have already replaced the fuel filter and the air filter. I have even tried a octane boost. None of these have really helped. I hope someone can help me.
A: The next time it won't start on the first few cranks, open the hood and spray some starting fluid into the air intake. Then crank the engine again and if it starts right up you'll know you have a fuel problem rather than a spark problem. If it's a fuel problem, check your Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor which tells the computer your coolant is cold on a cold start and to richen the fuel mixture. Also check the fuel filter and fuel pump pressure using the gauge below. You can use the spark tester below even on a Coil Over Plug (COP) ignition system. Try turning the ignition key to on (not start) for 5 seconds and off for 5 seconds three times in a row before actually turning the key to start. That primes the fuel pump pressure by turning the fuel pump on. Your fuel pressure could be leaking down too fast. The pressure gauge below will tell you that.

Q: What are some cheap good mods that will make my 2003 Ford F-150 FX4 5.4L faster or just have more power?
What are some cheap mods that I can add to my truck?

Q: How do you remove the front drivers side panel off of a 2003 ford f-150?
The night before last i had some ass run me off the road in my truck and i scraped the front drivers side panel against a small tree. Its not a serious repair, but insurance wants me to pay a 500 deductible to repair it when it looks like i can remove it myself and take a soft mallet to it and pop out the dent. im having trouble removing it though so i thought i'd ask around here. Any response would be greatly appreciated.
A: I am alomost positive there are a some screws near the door handle. Also the majority of the time they have clips, once you remove the clips by force they never go back on as tight as when first installed. Go to the dealer and get new ones. They are not expensive. Once you have removed the screws and identified where the clips are, the door panel will need upward pressure to remove. Careful not to do it too hard because the wiring for the power windows is still conected. Good luck.
Q: How do you change an oil filter in a 2003 Ford F-150?
A: It's in a tough spot. Above the front differential on the D/S. It has a plastic drain but you will still get some drain from both sides of the diff. It's not real messy but if you're on your back, leverage will be an issue. Turn the wheel slightly to the D/S before removal. It comes out from the bottom front.
Good luck!!
EDIT: I'm assuming it's a 4wd because you're asking, the 2wd's are simple & if you're changing your own oil you know what you're looking for.
Q: How do you turn off the "service engine soon" lite on a 2003 Ford F-150?
A: Try finding out what is causing the light to come on and FIX IT!!! There's a novel idea. Do you really think that light comes on for no apparent reason?
Q: where is the pcv for a 2003 ford f-150 harley davidson?
WHERE IS THE PCV LOCATED. I NEED TO CHECK IF ITS GONE BAD. I KNOW HOW TO CHECK IT, JUST DONT KNOW WHERE IT IS.
A: The pcv valve will be on top of one of the valve covers. Not sure about the Harley
Q: How do i change the fuel filter for a 2003 ford f-150 supercrew.?
A: Ford likes to require a special disconnect tool to remove the fuel lines and a/c lines. You can find it at most auto parts stores.
Q: what is the best chip/ tuner for a 2003 ford f=150 FX4 supercrew cab?
got dual exhaust on it and about to get a cold air intake. but i want the tuner to put more fuel in the cylinders to go with the increased air on them. which ones are the best?
A: You are mistaken on two counts, that you will actually improve the amount of air flowing into your engine and that a tuner or chip will do anything for you if you actually do.
It takes more than a cold air intake to make a performance improvement that you can feel. The air cleaner and exhaust have little to do with the volumetric efficiency that is was engineered into your engine at the factory, the MAF sensor could handle the change, if there was a change, without reprogramming the PCM, which is not legal to do.
Changing the back pressure of the exhaust and modifying the intake and/or removing or rendering useless the ACT sensor can actually cause the PCM to inject more fuel than it needs which will only cause your catalytic converter to overheat and basically self destruct.
Trying to hotrod a late model computer controlled engine by the uninformed can be very costly in the end, I don't recommend it, even to the most interesting man alive! lol

Q: Where is the horn located on a 2003 Ford F-150 Supercrew P/U?
The horn doesn't work and the fuse appears to be okay. I'm trying to save money by testing the horn myself but I can find it in the engine compartment.
A: I'm with David... It is on the passenger side of the truck, in front of the front tire. Lay on the ground and look up just behind the front bumper.
Because of their location they are prone to getting water/dirt/ect inside them. I had to replace the horns on an '01 I had twice because they got full or crap and barely made any noise
