Q: How to install an underbody neon kit for a 1997 honda civic?
I have a 1997 honda civic ex Coupe and would like to know some instructions on how to install them.

A: To be honest, if you need instructions on how to do it you really shouldn't be attempting it. However, if you have your heart set on doing it yourself I won't discourage you. Everyone's gotta start somewhere right? =] Firstly, it depends how you want them wired; on all the time, on with a switch, on with the headlights, on with the handbrake etc. Firstly you need to find a mounting point that doesn't inhibit any mechanical parts of the car. Don't ask me where I read this, but I remember somewhere that it's illegal for the actual light bar to be showing (depending on where you live the whole setup may be illegal, at the very least it will make you very attractive to police). Then find a spot to run the wires where they won't get in the way of anything and also won't hang down. You'll then need to splice off a wire that has constant power and find a ground that turns on and off with (whatever you want the lights turned on and off with). Hey presto you're all done! Make sure all wires are ziptied up and don't get in the way of anything or the driver's feet.

Q: I have a 1997 Honda Civic and i want to put new front and rear speakers in?
I have a 1997 Honda Civic and i want to put new front and rear speakers in. First i did not wanted to purchase expensive speakers, just mediocre ones that well sound better then the stock speakers in that car. Please give make, model, and possibly address and where they should go on the car front or rear.

A: Use the site below for speaker selection.Enter year/make/model and everything that fits will pop up.Speakers are easy to install.A phillips screwdriver and a door panel tool will get you inside the front doors.Unscrew old speaker and replace with new.Factory wiring is single strand solid wire and not suited for high wattage applications!Buy speaker(pairs)on sale if you can and save.

Q: Where can I go to seek an Air Conditioning installation in my 1997 Honda Civic CX near Denver, CO?
I just bought a used 1997 Honda Civic CX hatchback and it does not have air conditioning. I know this installation is pricey, but I wanted a general idea of price ranges and WHO I can go to/call near Denver, CO to get a/c installed in my vehicle. Thanks in advance!

A: I used to install aftermarket A/C systems for all types of car and trucks in the past but don't anymore due to (1) the cost and (2) the problems with installing the system in older cars and trucks. The price will be in the area of around $1200.00 dollars and if you check the internet you will be able to find someone that will install it. Once you have found someone email me with the price and I will tell you what you need to look for as well as what the installation place will need to look for and talk to you about.....

Q: Rims for a 2001 Corolla off of a 1997 Honda Civic?
I recently purchased a set of rims off eBay for my 2001 Corolla LE, but found out later they were actually off of a 1997 Civic. Every thing's the same (14 x 6 rim size, 4 x 100 bolt pattern) except for one slight detail: the center bore is 67.1mm on the rims (my Corolla's center bore is 54.1mm). Can I still safely use the rims?

A: Yes. The lug nuts will center the wheel on the hub. You just need to make sure that the lug surface of the wheel will accept the lug nut that is on your car. If not you can buy some at the autoparts store that will.

Theres a 97 Honda Civic DX for $1,800 and has 197,000 miles on it. i was wondering how many more miles it will go. should i buy this car? offer a better deal?

A: How long will it last? Your guess is as good as mine... Since no one here can actually see this car or tell you what shape it's in or what may be wrong with it, no one can tell you if it is a good buy or not.

Q: i want a 500hp 1997 honda civic what should i change or buy?
i have a 97 honda civic with a b20z2 engine and its 2.0L so its pushing around 200hp. i want to know for which other engine i should change it for and if i should a buy a turbo. i was thinkin about changing it for a k20 engine and buying a turbo but that only give me about 300hp. what should i do to get 500hp?

A: Engine+turbo does not = 500hp you will need internal motor work 1. build your block 2. port and polish head, a good head job is key to reaching 500hp 3. BIG turbo, you need a big turbo, like a Garrett GT4202R. you'll need to run between 25 to 30 psi, but make sure you take the proper step to ensure your motor can handle it 4. know how to tune your car 5. never buy cheap stuff There's plenty of b20/vtec turbo over 500hp People who tells you honda can't reach 500hp probably knows nothing about cars in general there's 500 +hp hondas everywhere, and can be reached easily if you know what you're doing

Q: I have a 1997 Honda Civic Si Coupe. What can I upgrade?
I'm looking for the best setup possible for the best price for my 1997 Honda Civic si Coupe. No i'm not a ricer. I want something as a daily driver but want alittle fun out of it. What's the best motor for this car and how much on average am i looking for to pay?

A: Lets see. If you say that you have a 97si I would assume that you are from Canada and that is equivalent to the US EX model. Then you must have the SOHC VTEC engine right now in your. I would suggest either a b16 swap out of a SiR or a b18c1 swap out of a Integra GSR. They are very easy swaps into your civic and dont require any modifications. They would be the best bang for you buck. You would be looking at paying roughly $2500 if you do the work yourself. Maybe even cheaper if you scope out a nice deal somewhere.

Q: Does a 1997 honda civic dx have a clutch cable?
Greetings. i have a 1997 honda civic dx and i was wondering if it has a clutch cable or is it hydrolics? my reason is i have recently noticed a very weak clutch pedal. i was at first able to pump it a few times and it would tighten up and shift. my 2 answers i received stated slave cylinder and other was referring to clutch cable adjustment. i need more detail if it needs bleeding or a simple adjustment and if so how abouts doing this? thanks much appreciated

A: The clutch master is mounted at the fire wall and there is a hard line that runs to the slave cylinder mounted to the side of the transmission. Each has a dust boot to protect the hydraulic seals area. Pull back this dust boot and if any fluid is in this area, that component is in need of replacing. This is telling you that the seals are not holding the system pressure and fluid is slipping by and air is being allowed to enter the system. This in turn creates a soft pedal and eventual failure. There is no purpose in bleeding the system until the faulty component has been replaced. Good Luck
