Q: Why is my 2003 Honda Civic Lx overheating?
My 2003 Honda Civic LX is overheating. I believe the problem is linked to the fact that the heater does not always work. From time time the hot air from my heater will suddenly turn to cold air. Has anybody out there experienced this problem with this car or any other car for that matter? Thanks!

A: Causes of overheating car; 1. low on coolant 2. coolant leak 3. bad radiator cap 4. clog radiator 5. bad water pump 6. bad thermostat 7. fan not working or not working properly Have a good mechanic check on these things. Hope this help!

Q: Where is the airbag module on a 2003 Honda Civic?
I have an 03 Honda Civic Hybrid and I can't find the airbag module..where is it? Thanks.

A: I'm not sure what you're looking for by the way you ask the question. In Honda terminology, the 'airbag module' is the actual airbag. so the driver's side airbag module is in the center of the steering wheel, the passenger side airbag module is at the top of the instrument panel above the glovebox and the side airbag modules are in the sides of the front seats for the driver and passenger. if you are asking about the SRS Control Module that activates the airbags based on the input from sensors, its under the instrument panel at the front of the center console. (it will be below the radio and in front of the gearshift on the driver's side) it should have three yellow connectors going to it. hope that helps

Q: Where is the Antenna in a 2003 Honda Civic?
I get terrible AM reception from stations that sounded fine in my 1991 Geo Prizm, and I see no visible antenna on the Civic. I guess maybe the antenna is inside the car somewhere, what can I do to get better AM reception out of my radio? By the way, I replaced the stock radio with something else but the problem was there with the stock radio as well

A: The antenna is built into the upper rear window if you look at your rear window you have the defroster lines and above that there will be more random scattered set of lines this is your antenna, this setup doesnt get great am reception but any aftermarket cd player can make it even worse with the internal amp to put out the higher watts. The more powerful the recivers output is for the stereo the more distortion there normally is. I have also noticed when I use the defroster on my car (Accord) it creates even more distortion. A car audio shop can help you with this you can get an antenna that you can mount and wire yourself or even have them do it for you.

Q: Installing CD stereo receiver in 2003 Honda Civic at Circuit City?
I want to install a new CD receiver in my Honda Civic so I can hook up my iPod/MP3 player and listen to music better than my current FM transmitter setup. If I get one of these from Circuit City, it appears that they do installation for free with a unit $99 and up. Would I need to also buy an installation kit or something to have it fit in there? Or would it be just buying the CD unit and having them install it? What other parts will be needed?

A: You have a double DIN opening in the 2003. You will need a stereo kit, unless you get a double DIN CD Player. You will also need a wiring harness. I hope this information will help you out. Q: My 2003 Honda Civic makes a fluttering noise when revved to about 2000 rpms. What could that noise be?
A friend has suggested it may be the intake manifold. My husband is fearful that its something to do with the transmission. The car has 87,000 miles and my husband still labors under the assumption that cars are "totally worn out after 50,000 miles and should be traded". Any advise would be appreciated.

A: timing is out, engine starving for fuel, tell your hubby my car has 280.000 km on it and never had any major work on the engine, and it still hammers like a rocket. I have never been beaten off the lights and my normal crusing speed is 140+ kmh

Q: Have I done any damage to a 2003 Honda Civic by putting one tank of E85 in it?
In a fit of true genius I put a tank of E-85 into my non-flexfuel 2003 Honda Civic roughly 2-3 months ago. Several tanks have come and gone and the car runs fine, however I am concerned about any damage I might have done to it (or that may be developing over time). If there is a reason to be concerned, is there a cost-efficient solution? Thanks. When I said "several tanks have come & gone since" I meant I have used regular gasoline ever since that one mistake.

A: The damage would have already presented itself when the engine was running on E85 fuel. One of the main difference in Flexfuel vehicles is not the engine but the fuel tank and fuel pump. Biofuel is naturally Hygroscopic, meaning it can absorb water from the air. The tank has special seals and dryer filters to remove water vapor from the tank.

Q: How do you disable the alarm on a 2003 Honda Civic?
When the car is left unlocked for more than about 1 minute the alarm goes off when the doors are opened. The alarm won't switch to 'off.' I'd like to just disable it. There isn't a fuse for it in either of the fuse boxes.

A: it depends if it's a Honda installed or aftermarket. certain alarms will have features like that. when i got mine installed(Code Alarm) they ask you do you want it to do this, this, that etc.

Q: Can you remove your 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid's key from the ignition while it is still in drive?
For some reason my car can do this and I want to know if every car can do this or has a safety feature been by-passed. We just bought the car used. I have never had a car which allowed me to do this so it kind of freaks me out. Thanks. I didn't plan on leaving it in drive, but got distracted by the kids, and didn't realize it until the car started to roll.

A: Well if you mean turning off the engine and removing the key while the car is still in Drive, (you forgot to put it in park) then yeah, you probably can do that, i accidentally did that on my 08 Honda Civic. What you shouldn't be able to do though is just pull the key out with the car still running, if you can do that, make the Honda dealer check it out.

Q: What grade gas goes in a 2003 Honda Civic?
Is it a waste to get the super-duper premium unleaded? Or will that be better for the car? Why are there three choices? Should I get the top one or the bottom one? Does anybody get the in-between grade? Why? I want whatever is best for the car, but I don't know what that is.

A: It's not a waste to put premium in a Civic Si, but it is on every other trim level of a Civic. Almost all Honda vehicles are designed to run on the lowest grade octane (87) gasoline. If you have an DX, LX, EX, all you need is the cheapest. Sometimes people have knocking with the lowest grade gas, they fix it by putting mid-grade in it.

Q: Where can I get a replacement emblem for my 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid?
Someone stole the H from the front of the car and I want to replace it. I don't want to spend as much as the dealer will undoubtedly charge. Any suggestions?

A: A friend had hers stolen off her car too, we always joked about stealing someone else, lol. We never did. You could phone around to wreckers/salvage yards in your area, or do a search on line.

Q: How do I get the spare tire out of my 2003 Honda civic?
I have a flat tire, I need to take the spare out and put it on the car. The problem is, I cant get the spare tire out of the back of the car. It's stuck somehow on the pole that holds it in place. Have you had this problem? I don't want to have to use my hack saw on the car and the car didnt come with an owners manual. Thanks!

A: in your trunk is a spare tire and a hook is holding it.talk the weal bar and stick it in the hole that is shaped like a small square and turn it counter clock wise

Q: Can you identify the strange noise my 2003 Honda Civic makes?
I randomly hear a semi-high pitched noise, sounding similar to a siren (sometimes I've actually turned my radio down and looked in my rearview mirror to see if a cop was trying to pull me over). It's been happening for a little over a year now, but no clue why or where it's coming from. It's hard to explain to a mechanic or the dealership, so has anyone else had this problem with their car? Any advice you have would help. Thank you!

A: Its a 2003 Honda. It will have many worn out parts. Go to a service cent re

Q: What's the difference between a 2003 Honda Civic and a 2004 Civic besides the headlights and grille?
Are there any different features?

A: Honestly, nothing. Honda does a major redesign every 4 years on all their modern models. However, they typically tweak the style slightly every 2 years to entice new buyers. Honda accords and civics usually get new lights and sometimes grilles.

Q: Detailed directions to replace parking lights in a 2001-2003 Honda Civic Coupe?
Both of my parking lights in the front need to be replaced. There is hardly any space behind the headlight assembly. Its difficult to remove the whole headlight, I read that you need to remove the front bumper. Is there an easy way to do this myself? How can I do this myself without messing anything up? I know if I take it to the dealer, they'll overcharge. Well, I don't have a repair manual. And I have every right to ask a question. Who are you to tell me?

A: Given the fact that you are to lazy to get a repair manual and want somebody to do it for you, may the centre digit of my right hand lead you in the right direction. look up............ way up!!! How can you have a bunch of clowns do a show and nobody remembers a damn thing about who did what ? Tell me that!

Q: How do I remove my 2003 honda civic door panels?
I want to install speakers but dnt know how to get it open

A: I have the LX Coupe and the panel came off like this: There are five screws; three in the arm and two under a plastic plate on the handle (you have to pry the plastic plate off to get at the screws). AFter you get the handle screws out, unclip the door handle from the metal bar being carefull not to break the clip (its fragile). In the arm rest, pry up the little plastic cover over a screw in the handle and remove. Pop off the [arm]rest from the panel starting near the back of the car and moving forward (the arm rest is in two pieces; to the rear a rubber piece, and a hard plastic piece where the auto window control is). After you pop the arm rest off, unplug the auto window from the hard plastic piece. There are two more screws to get at now. Once the screws are removed, start popping the panel off from the rear moving along the bottom. Once the sides and bottom are loose, lift up and away and the panel should come off.
